Correspondence
Studio VIII, 2026
Correspondence is a new photographic and moving-image work exploring a fundamental shift in photography: from the image as something directly captured to something formed through relation, correlation and inference.
Drawing an unlikely line between Emanuel Swedenborg’s concept of correspondences and contemporary quantum ghost imaging, the work considers the possibility of seeing indirectly– of an image emerging through relationships rather than direct optical contact.
Quiet and deliberately restrained, Correspondence unfolds through clusters of photographs, moving image, light and sound. Rather than explaining what is seen, the work allows absence, delay and uncertainty to remain active within the image.
Developed between Australia and Croatia, Correspondence represents a significant new stage of practice and ongoing investigation into what may exist beyond photography’s visible surface.
Presented in September 2026 at Atelijeri Žitnjak, Zagreb, Croatia & the Pingyao International Photography Festival, China.
